Ukrainian filmmaker and writer Irina Hurvič directed dozens of beautiful and charming animated films, including the delightful stop-motion Hra, which uses scraps of cloth and yarn to craft a metaphorical tale about resilience. Pitting a creative needle against destructive scissors, it becomes clear that the violence of the scissors merely spurs on the needle to greater achievements, including a final collaboration that revels in the power of invention.
