The Ghost of Wittgenstein
A little Ludwig Wittgenstein goes a long way. The philosopher mused on the relation between words and things and developed a ‘picture theory of language’. Ira Schneider (1943–2022) here playfully illustrates the theory with the help of psychedelic imagery, jazz tracks, and a circular voice-over conversation by two hipsters referring to a guy we often see… or do we? A conceptual film about transformation that ends with: “You think it’s jive, man?”
