The luminously bubbling mathematics of Iannis Xenakis' Plato-inspired, La légende d'eer are accompanied here by Bruno Rastoin's transcription of 350 images capturing Xenakis's score, photographs of its premiere performance and diagrams of Le diatope, the curvilinear shell designed by Xenakis for the opening of the Centre Georges-Pompidou. La légende d'eer was a sweepingly elaborate precision of lights, lasers, mirrors, and an avant-garde masterpiece allowed now to become freshly compelling. Electronic Music I additionally features a new surround-sound mix of the piece and a video conversation between Xenakis and musicologist Harry Halbreich.
