Valeria Sarmiento

Valéria SARMIENTO (1948, Chile) studied film and philosophy at the University of Valparaiso. In 1972 she made her first documentary, Un sueño como de dolores. Since 1974 she is based in Paris, where she has worked as director and editor of films by e.g. Raúl Ruiz, Luc Moullet and Robert Kramer. After her husband Raúl Ruiz passed away, Sarmiento finished his film The Wandering Soap Opera (2017).
