They say it is more likely to be struck by lightning than to win the lottery. Against all odds, the undocumented Ebenezer does indeed find his golden ticket on the streets of Rotterdam. Funding a law degree suddenly seems within arm’s reach, but without valid identification to claim his prize, Ebenezer remains a nobody with nowhere to go in this country. Director Abid Chand turns this fable of (mis)fortune, written by Marlyn van Erp, into a poignant reflection on unseen communities and their unsung heroes.
