“Did you know that of all animals, people and birds are the most alike?” a grandfather asks his grandson. Sitting inside a parked car, he regales him with tall stories of his time as a sailor, painting poetic pictures that revolve around the albatross. His grandson, in the meantime – portrayed by filmmaker Ilya Vierhout himself – broaches the subject of his inner world. A conversation built from two monologues, inspired by a book Vierhout found among his deceased grandfather’s belongings.
