Now I’m in the Kitchen
A warm and intimate animation by Yana Pan, a graduate of CalArts, that brings life and magic to everyday items of the domestic kitchen. As traditional utensils and ingredients sway and shimmy before our eyes, the literal and figurative distance between a traditional Chinese mother and her daughter’s life as an animator and designer in New York becomes clear. Time shared in the kitchen emerges as a bridge between their very different worlds.
