The film explores the tension between two men, one who refuses all human bonding and the other, who is moved to compassion and an understanding beyond words. The film is adapted from Herman Melville's classic story and it is situated in India during the 1970s when society was still steady and slow. With long takes and quite a slow rhythm, the director creates a heavy, Kafka esque atmosphere driven by the strange inner world of the characters.
