Reinhard, one of Hermann's three friends in film, returns from a visit to Mexico and discovers that Mrs Cerphal's villa has disappeared. Together with Rob, the cameraman, he tries to record on film the disappearance. Hermann composes for the film a requiem for the lost villa. During the shooting, the friends quarrel. An era comes to a definitive end. Clarissa becomes a mother and Reinhard leaves for Venice to write a script. In Venice he meets Esther, an idiosyncratic and fanatical photographer, who reveals more about the past of the Cerphals. Reinhard becomes a character in his own film and commits suicide in Lake Ammer near Munich.It is 1966, Munich is designated the location of the 1972 Olympic Games and Walt Disney dies.
