Rotterdamse Vrijheidsmaaltijden x IFFR
On 5 May each year, Freedom Meals are organised across the country, to mark Liberation Day. In Rotterdam, you can join more than 100 participating locations for a free bowl of Freedom Soup this year – a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow Rotterdammers and strike up a conversation. Because, on Liberation Day, it’s important not only to reflect on the freedoms we already have, but also on the freedoms we have yet to achieve – both nationally and internationally.

IFFR again joins forces with Pauluskerk and Pathé Schouwburgplein for a lively afternoon programme. Come along, meet some new faces, and enjoy a bowl of soup and a selection of short films from Rotterdam. We hope to see you at Pauluskerk on Tuesday 5 May!
The programme:
- 13.00 – doors open & soup served
- 13.15 – welcome
- 13.20 – performances by people from Pauluskerk
- +/- 13.35 – music
- 14.10 – departure to Pathé Schouwburgplein
- 14.30 – start films
- Jackpot (Abid Chand, Netherlands, 2026, 22 min.)
- Vluchtval (Laura Stek, Netherlands, 2022, 28 min.)
- This Is Your Captain Speaking (Nienke Deutz and Digna van der Put, Netherlands, Belgium, 2026, 14 min.)
