gestures toward Plant Vision
Can plants see? Do they have a photo-sensitive capacity? An erudite speech by Paco Calvo in the soundscape introduces this scientific controversy, and also triggers a cinematographic evocation. Sarah Abbott frames plants in relation to the light that envelops them, and the changing camera lens produces effects of blur, dazzle and sensory absorption. Is the natural world the sum of objects that we observe, or are they really active ‘subjects’ like us, processing stimuli?
