An old man in Saint Martin prepares to return to the island of Curaçao, but an onset of dementia prevents him from leaving. As we stare out of a tropical porch at the changing light of dawn, we listen to his increasingly fragmented conversations with his unresponsive son. Lost on Arrival paints a bleak, heartrending portrait of a fading consciousness slowly losing its connections to the past and the world.
