Kai Oka’s magnum opus – and only sound film – takes its key cue from Italo Svevo’s 1923 axiom of modern(ist) literature, La coscienza di Zeno. One is taken on a very elliptical journey through Zeno’s life demonstrating that “…film is a comprehensive art form which can express the stream of consciousness in real time” – Kai Oka.
