Entirely produced, scripted, directed and edited by Potter herself, this rewriting of Puccini’s opera La Bohème – with musical quotes from Psycho – provides the female spectator with a long-awaited recognition of her version of the story. Potter uses the materiality of film to deconstruct the relationship between theory and image.
