Schneemann and seven nude women perform the ritualized action of reading a text, as each woman slowly extracts a scroll from her vagina. The camera moves from the group action of the naked performers to close-ups of the unraveling text. Schneemann, a central figure in the body art movement, first performed this action solo in 1975.
