Car drifting, a key feature in Maeve Brennan's wonderfully poignant documentary, is when the rear wheels of a car turn at such a force that the front wheels point in the opposite direction. In this film about the resistance to progress at the expense of history, three stories of men in contemporary Lebanon intertwine: a gatekeeper guards the ruins of Roman temples, a young car mechanic customises his car from scrap parts, and a conservator preserves clay artefacts.
