Accessibility of festival locations

• Accessibility ‘de Doelen’

  How to get there
  Take tram 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 11 to Kruisplein. Alternatively, you can reach ‘de Doelen’ within 7 to 10 minutes from Rotterdam Centraal, so you can also take metro lines D or E to Centraal Station.

  Type of entrance
  The Willem Burger Hal entrance, which is the regular entrance to the festival heart and the screening rooms, has wide revolving doors and is step-free. The Schouwburgplein entrance, the Opening Night entrance, is also step-free and has manual doors that are opened during the event.

  The entrance to the Juriaanse Zaal and the Willem Burger Zaal are step-free. The doors are manual and are opened during the shows. You can reach the Willem Burger Hal en Zaal with a lift right by the entrance. Please ask a location manager or volunteer for assistance if needed.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  The venue is wheelchair accessible. Every cinema is accessible via lifts. A toilet for wheelchair users is available on the ground floor in the Willem Burger Hal and on the third floor in the Willem Burger Foyer. In the Grote Zaal, the Jurriaanse Zaal and in the Willem Burger Zaal, there are wheelchair seats available. The Van Cappellen Zaal is not wheelchair accessible.   Mobility scooters can enter the screening room; you can change to a regular seat.

  For the hearing impaired and visually impaired
  There is a listening coil (telecoil) available during the festival. There are no headphones available. It works via induction cables under the seats in conjunction with the T-position on hearing aids. Since the loop system uses induction, its location in the auditorium significantly affects the signal quality. Please ask for guidance from the location managers or volunteers on location.

  Best coverage in the Grote Zaal
  Coverage is good in the whole room but best in rows 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14 and 15 on the Parterre; in the middle rows 1, 2 and 3 and in the whole rows 5 and 6 of the Frontring; in the rows 12, 13 and 14 of the Tribune.

  Best coverage in the Juriaanse Zaal
  Coverage is good in the whole room but best on the seats closest to the side in rows 5, 8, 11 and 12.

  Best coverage in the Willem Burger Zaal
  There is only coverage in rows F and G, seats 25 to 32 in row E, and in seats 21 to 26 in row C.

  Lactation room
  A lactation room is available on request at the venue. Please contact the volunteers at our info desk.

  Sensory sensitivity room
  There is no sensory sensitivity room available at the venue.

  Parking
  Parking for visitors with disabilities are not available around ‘de Doelen’ but there are available parking spots on Karel Doormanstraat. Parking is available at Q-Park Weena or the parking garage at Schouwburgplein. You can reach ‘de Doelen’ from there within a few minutes.

• Accessibility Pathé Schouwburgplein

  How to get there
  Take tram 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 11 to Kruisplein. Alternatively, it’s a 6-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal, so you can also take metro lines D or E to Centraal Station and walk from there. From metro station Stadhuis (lines D or E), it’s a 5-minute walk. From metro station Beurs (lines A, B or C), it’s a 5 to 10-minute walk.

  The entrance is barrier-free and has a manual door. The screening room doors are manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  All rooms are wheelchair accessible and can be reached via the lift. Please approach the info desk at the location if you want to use the lift since it can only be used with the help of staff at the location.

  A bathroom for visitors with disabilities is available.

• Accessibility Theater Rotterdam

  How to get there
  Take tram 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 11 to Kruisplein. Alternatively, it’s a 7-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal, so you can also take metro lines D or E to Centraal Station and walk from there. From metro station Stadhuis (lines D or E), it’s a 5-minute walk. From metro station Beurs (lines A, B or C), it’s a 5 to 10-minute walk.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  Theater Rotterdam has seats for wheelchair users in all rooms. Get in touch at service@IFFR.com to reserve wheelchair seats. Our staff will guide you to your seat via the lift and help where necessary.

  For the hearing impaired
  Currently, there is no listening coil (telecoil) available during the festival. We are checking if we can make it available for during the festival.

  Lactation room
  A lactation room is available on request at the venue. Please contact the volunteers at our info desk.

  Sensory sensitivity room
  There is no sensory sensitivity room available at the venue.

• Accessibility Oude Luxor

  How to get there
  Take metro lines D or E, or tram 1, 3, 4, 7 or 11 to Stadhuis or tram 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11 or 12 to Weena. Oude Luxor can be reached within 5 minutes from there. From Rotterdam Central Station, Oude Luxor is reachable within 10-15 minutes.

  Type of entrance
  The entrance is barrier-free and has an automatic door. The screening room doors are manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  The venue is accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooters. There are wheelchair seats available in the room. Get in touch at service@IFFR.com to reserve wheelchair seats.

  At the end of the long foyer there is a lift on the left, with which you can reach the toilet for visitors with disabilities and the cloakroom in the basement. The lift also goes to the first floor (row 17) since there is still a flight of stairs (4 steps). The bar and information desk are located on the ground floor.

  For the hearing impaired and visually impaired
  There is no sound reinforcement equipment available during the festival. There are some spots available for people with a lower vision. Ask a location manager or a volunteer for assitance.

  Parking
  Near Kruiskade 28 are two parking spaces for visitors with disabilities. You can park here for free with a parking card for visitors with disabilities. ParkBee Hilton is wheelchair accessible.

• Accessibility Cinerama Filmtheater

  How to get there
  Take the metro to Beurs (lines A, B, C, D or E), or tram 1, 3, 5, 11 to Beurs. Cinerama is 5 to 10 minutes away from the Beurs stop.

  Type of entrance
  The entrance is not barrier-free and has a manual door. The screening room doors are manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  The venue is not accessible for wheelchair users and there are no wheelchair spots available in the screening rooms. There is no elevator at the venue.

  Assistance dogs are welcome. Please let us know before you purchase tickets.

  Lactation room
  A lactation room is available on request at the venue. Please contact the volunteers at our info desk.

  Sensory sensitivity room
  There is no sensory sensitivity room available at the venue.

• Accessibility KINO

  How to get there
  Take tram 4 or 6 to Bloemkwekersstraat. KINO is a 5 minutes away from this stop. Alternatively, take metro lines A, B or C to Eendrachtsplein, KINO can be reached within 10 minutes from there.

  Type of entrance
  There is a ramp available next to the stairs at the entrance, which has a manual door. The hall doors are manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  The venue is accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooters. The rooms are accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooter users. KINO 3 is accessible via a lift. Please get in touch with a location manager for assistance. Get in touch at service@IFFR.com to reserve wheelchair seats. A toilet for wheelchair users is available on the ground floor, next to the other toilets.

  For the hearing impaired and visually impaired
  There is no telecoil available.

• Accessibility WORM and WORM UBIK

  How to get there
  Take tram 8 to Museumpark. From there, reach WORM & WORM UBIK via the Witte de Withstraat. Alternatively, take metro line A, B, C, D or E to Beurs and WORM & WORM UBIK is reachable within 10 minutes.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  WORM & WORM UBIK are wheelchair accessible.

  The sound//vision events in UBIK on 30 January and 1 February are not accessible by wheelchair due to other programming in WORM Central Station that is going on at the same time.

  Parking
  There are no disabled parking spaces available in the neighbourhood.

• Accessibility LantarenVenster

  How to get there
  Take metro lines D or E, or tram 3 or 5 to Wilhelminaplein. From there, LantarenVenster can be reached within 10 minutes.

  Type of entrance
  The entrance is barrier-free and has an automatic door. All rooms have manual doors and are accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooters.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  The venue is accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooters. Get in touch at service@IFFR.com to reserve wheelchair seats.

  The entrance has an automatic door. All the rooms are accessible for wheelchair users and can be opened with via manual doors. All the rooms are accessible for mobility scooters, if it fits the elevator (85cm x 120cm), you can change to a regular chair. The first row in every room is reserved for wheelchair users. A toilet for wheelchair users is available on the ground floor, next to the other toilets.

  For the hearing impaired and visually impaired
  Unfortunately, there is no telecoil available.

  Parking
  There are some disabled parking spaces available in the neighbourhood.

  • Some parking spaces are available on Wilhelminapier for holders of a parking card for visitors with disabilities.
  • Eight general disabled parking spaces on Otto Reuchlinweg, off Prinsendam (behind Nieuwe Luxor)
  • One parking space for visitors with disabilities on Otto Reuchlinweg, off Westerdam
  • Two general parking spaces for visitors with disabilities on Wilhelminakade off Hotel New York/World Port Center

• Accessibility Nieuwe Luxor

  How to get there
  Take metro lines D or E, or tram 3 or 5 to Wilhelminaplein. From there, Nieuwe Luxor can be reached within 5 minutes.

  Type of entrance
  The entrance is barrier-free and has a manual door. The screening room doors are manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  The venue is accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooters (except the second balcony and the loges). There are 8 wheelchair spots available in the room. These are available on row 8 of the first balcony. For companions there are seats available on row 8 or row 7. Get in touch at service@IFFR.com to reserve wheelchair seats.

  The elevators are located in the front and the back of the entrance hall. A toilet for wheelchair users is available on the ground floor, the second and fourth floor, next to the other toilets. From row 11 in the auditorium, the bar and toilets are not directly accessible. Please use the lift (to the right of the stage) to reach the ground, second or fourth floors.

  For the hearing impaired and visually impaired
  There is sound reinforcement equipment available. We are checking if we can make it available for during the festival. There are some spots available for people with a lower vision. The seats on the second balcony are not recommended if you are visually impaired.

• Accessibility Islemunda

  How to get there
  Take tram 3 to Keizerswaard. Alternatively, take metro line E to Maashaven and switch to tram 2 towards Keizerswaard. From there, Islemunda can be reached within 2 minutes.

  Type of entrance
  The entrance is barrier-free and has an automatic door. The screening room doors are manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  Podium Islemunda is wheelchair accessible. Both cinema rooms, foyer and bathrooms are on the ground floor.

• Accessibility Katoenhuis

  How to get there
  Take tram 1 or 7 or metro line A, B, or C to Marconiplein. The Katoenhuis area is accessible from there within 15-20 minutes. Note that Katoenhuis is in a developing industrial area.

  Type of entrance
  The entrance to Katoenhuis is manual.

  Wheelchair accessibility
  There is an alternative entrance for wheelchair users. Contact the location manager via the number at the regular entrance. All installations on the ground floor are wheelchair accessible.

  There are no accessible toilets at Katoenhuis but there are at Keilepand. Keilepand can be reached via Cult=Us at Keilestraat 7a.

  Where possible, English subtitles are provided with each installation.
