In the spring of 1986, the filmmaker's granny Aldona lost her sight due to poisoning of the optic nerve, probably a result of the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl. The Footstones in Night Writing follows Aldona on her daily outing to Gutras Park where she wanders the past and present simultaneously.
