At a technical level, Calum creates a hybrid combination of digital and analog. He lets pixels and toner fight abrasion and decay, moving in and out of legibility, presenting the moving image as inherently unstable. Thematically, he explores the tendency of both the living and the inanimate to submit to gravity.
