Villages on the Stara Planina Mountain used to be full of life; these were places where different cultures and customs would meet. Now, only silence remains. According to the 1948 census, the village of Boljev Dol used to have 251 inhabitants. In July 2008, 249 people had left, according to the count. The rest of the world just forgot that two people are still living there.
