In the life and the art of Edward Luyken, everything looks like a ritual. He writes a story every week, in order to take it round to several people. He makes statues of steel and stone, in order to put them in a specific place. And every year he makes a short film on 16mm about these rituals, in order to screen them in Rotterdam and accompany them himself with music. In this way, his rituals complete the year, so that the next year can start with new rituals. Tabula Rasa. The clean slate.
