Setoguchi Miki caused controversy last year with the charming surrealistic craziness of Mother of the Mother and also the Mother of the Mother’s Mother, and her Daughter, which rightly won a prize at the Image Forum Festival. Indeed a long title for a short film. This year the title is shorter, but the charming surrealistic craziness has stayed. Apparently nonchalantly she mixes food and sex in a way that is not always equally tasteful, but often humorous and certainly original. And probably feminine.
