An attractive student film that again makes it clear how attached the Chinese community in Malaysia is to its own cultural traditions. Not much is said, but there's a lot to be seen. Fo You, a 10-year-old boy, grows up in the theatre of his grandmother's Chinese Opera. He amazes his teacher by being able to draw the first act of each opera by heart. Touching and sober. (GjZ)
