Most narrative shorts are a demonstration of competence, combining seductive visuals with a sense of humour or surprise. There is usually, if not a happy, then at least a funny or funky end to the story. This short does the exact opposite. In no time, a whole universe is imposing itself: depressing, suburban and dysfunctional. A loveless story about a girl, her mother, a boy and a dog. L'humanité (Dumont) revisited.
