Displacement Film Fund Panel: Announcement of 2026 Filmmakers
Monday 18 May, 14.30 – 15.30
Palais Press Room
Join us at the Displacement Film Fund (DFF) panel for the unveiling of the second round of selected filmmakers, following the world premieres of the first cohort at IFFR 2026. Open to accredited guests and upon invitation, on a first come, first served basis.
The Displacement Film Fund (DFF) supports forcibly displaced filmmakers and those creating authentic stories about displacement. The fund was launched by actor, producer and UNHCR Global Goodwill Ambassador Cate Blanchett at IFFR 2025. The first five short films supported by the fund had their world premieres at IFFR 2026 to a sold out Oude Luxor theatre and widespread acclaim including a five-star review by Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian.

Supported titled in the selections
A spread of films and talent presented at CineMart and backed by the Hubert Bals Fund are once again a fixture of the Cannes lineup in 2026. The selections span reconciliation in Rwanda, wild elephants and a disappearing daughter in rural Nepal, a Japanese boarding school for teenage mermaids, a women-only petrol station in Yemen and a nostalgic reflection on family life in 1990s Mexico City.
