Margarida Paias
Margarida PAIAS (2000, Portugal) is a filmmaker, editor and visual artist. She graduated in Editing from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC), where she developed a practice spanning directing, editing, art direction and costume design. She has worked as art director and costume designer on several short films, including Afternoon Sun (2020) and Under the Mountains’ Shadow (2025), and has collaborated on projects by emerging Portuguese filmmakers. Alongside film, she designs sets and costumes for theatre productions and is also an actress. The IFFR selected short Rui Carlos (2026) marks her debut as a director.
