Daniel Ernst
Daniel ERNST (Netherlands) is a The Hague-based artist and pioneer in VR art. With his ongoing series of VR dioramas, he explores the boundaries between reality and virtuality, using the possibilities and limitations of VR technology to craft immersive worlds. He received the Golden Calf for Die Fernweh Oper (2019), a nonlinear VR experience where a former TV medium guides viewers through shifting memories shaped by their choices. His latest project The Great Orator (2025), an AI-driven VR story world, was presented at IFFR’s CineMart (2020) and Darkroom programme, and premiered in competition at Venice Immersive in 2025.
