Barbara den Uyl
Barbara den UYL (1949, Netherlands) studied Dutch Language and Literature and trained in Stage Direction. She has been involved with Van der Hoop Filmproducties since 1984 as a filmmaker and producer. In 1985 she made a documentary about the ‘free state’ Staatsliedenbuurt where she was a local resident: Waar ratten koning zijn. Her film The Universe of Jaap Pieters had its world premiere in Rotterdam in 2015. In 2016 she dedicated a second film, Tavern of Memories, to a Dutch director: the extraordinary artist and filmmaker Kees Hin.
