Hana Selena Sokolović imaginatively evokes the journey of her two older sisters, Selma and Senka, away from war-torn Sarajevo during the siege that began in 1992, and through Bosnia and Croatia. The film draws on a poetic diary written during that time by her sister Selma Parisi, when she was 10 years old. Combining animated figures, voice-over narration by Selma’s daughter Sara Parisi, and present-day footage, the film mines the poignant lyricism of a child’s impressions and reflections.
