A 500 year old tradition of unknown origins plays out every New Year’s Eve in Switzerland’s Appenzell region. Six men gather in the snow to yodle, ring bells and drink wine, all in elaborate, bizarre and almost psychedelic handmade costumes. With the meaning of these rituals lost in time, all we are left with is the spectacle.
