Edward Weki, the main character of Persona Beach (2011) and Overnight Flies (2016), is now suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Nurse Alma (from Ingmar Bergman's Persona, 1966) and Death (from Bergman's The Seventh Seal, 1957) each, in their own way, try to help Edward remember.

Sporting reincarnations of some of Bergman's most famous characters, Godsterminal is a fuller and more playful tribute to Swedish cinema's grandmaster than the already allusions-dense Persona Beach. Some of whose actors return to Weki-Tiller's universe here, but it's the differences that matter. Death for example, is now a woman, it's not chess she plays with Edward but abanga, an East and Central African game which originates from the Zande people. Like the Knight in the Black Death-infested Middle Ages, Edward is playing for time, as some matters in his life need to be resolved.

The quirkiest of Weki-Tiller's works, Godsterminal is also the serenest in its narrative movements. It is unpredictable in the same way memories seemingly hit us out of nowhere, casually but never slowly and always leading Edward back to himself and his predicament. It’s through Godsterminal in which a long and serpentine story of a dozen plus years long finds its sole possible conclusion.
