Promised Land
Promised Land portrays five Americans, contemplating the departure of the Pilgrim Fathers from Rotterdam. Some 400 years earlier, their ship the Mayflower left the port of Delfshaven for America. Upon arrival, they depended heavily on the native population and enjoyed their first Thanksgiving meal. But how should we see the Pilgrims today, and should we even honour these heroes of days gone by?
