Screen pornography has always taken many forms – Grief Encounter is an intriguing narrative variation. It proceeds from a kinky premise: a woman regularly picks up people (young, old, male, female) at funerals. They are open to her advances because they are, as she informs us in voice-over, emotionally “overwhelmed” – and she proceeds to overwhelm them further. Slickly shot, with a touch of the Alain Cavalier portraiture style.
