Direct naar zijbalk
A woman visits the house of her friend’s mother. There, the presence of a black doll catches her attention and haunts her. Instinctively but respectfully, she tries to retrieve the doll from the house, to liberate it from its appointed function. This anecdotal story allows director Buseje Bailey to reflect on the ways in which black people are affected by visual representations that reinforce reductive ideas and stereotypical assumptions about their bodies.
