Sohaib Bouaiss brilliantly renders the array of sensations and perceptions experienced in parasomnia: the hypnotic transformation of landscapes; the sudden shifts between background and foreground; the warping movements and metamorphoses of shapes; the play of lights, veils, layers and colours… Aided by a recurrent fragment of music and by a double voice track, this is a haunting exploration of multicultural identity and the magic of rare dream states.
