Pierre Bastien built his first sound automaton in 1968, aged 15. In his 40-year career, he has become a unique figure in music research, with interdisciplinary collaborations that embrace visual arts as well as fashion design. His mechanical orchestra featuring instruments from all over the world, Meccano parts and motors is a playful dive into the various possibilities of sound.
Distant SymphonyAV is a project by classically trained musician, composer and producer Midori Hirano (who explores experimental electronic music under the moniker MimiCof), created on the EMS SYNTHI 100 Synthesizer and exploring the machine’s versatility and unique sound through pulsating, transforming and mesmerising atmospheres and textures.
