Chants from a Holy Book
Two Brazilian filmmakers of Armenian heritage investigate the 2018 Velvet Revolution in Armenia through a series of five chants: microcosm, self, home, society, and macrocosm. The aim of this investigation is not to recount or explain the events during or leading up to the revolution, but instead to unravel the threads that weave together spontaneous moments of revolutionary activity. Threads that can reach all the way back to Brazil, or perhaps even across the world.
