Curated by Mark McElhattenThe world revolves and sets us spinning on the spot. Leaving us at a crossroads that is intimately unfamiliar. Every exterior gets internalised, ‘brought home’ to the senses faithfully stored in the infidelities of memory denied and affirmed by fixed images. Interior. Anterior. Radius. Nucleus. Now and then. We were there and in some ways we are there still, a part of us left by the side of the road. Images absorb and reflect notions and essences of the Spirit of Place in ways that are at once concrete, partial and indelible. The pieces in this programme are informed by their location. New York, Calcutta, Mabou Mines Nova Scotia,Thailand, Italy. Mark McElhatten
