Like a magician, Edward Luyken evokes movements from lifeless objects: stones, photos, totems, toys... What is filmed cannot always be captured in words. Luyken will as usual accompany his 16mm artwork with live music. Edward Luyken (1950) studied at art school in Rotterdam and lived in Paris, New York and Tokyo. In 1976 he started making 8mm animation films as a self-taught man.
