An actor is working on a play about the mythical Greek warrior Philoktetes, who has been abandoned by Odysseus on the uninhabited island of Lemnos. Then the actor hears he has AIDS. is made from footage shot for the play. It makes for a moving meditation on the power of art as a life-giving force and on one man's extraordinary belief in that power.
