IFFR films at the Netherlands Film Festival 2026

This year’s Netherlands Film Festival, running Friday 25 September to Friday 2 October 2026 in Utrecht, is packed with IFFR 2026 films. Sixteen are nominated for Golden Calves across the short, documentary and feature categories.

Three of the nominated shorts came through RTM: Regen in Augustus by Ashley Röttjers, winner of RTM Pitch 2025, which had its world premiere on RTM Day; The Liminal Zone by Rutger Wolfson, presented as a live AV performance with Klankvorm; and This is Your Captain Speaking by Nienke Deutz and Digna van der Put, the subject of an RTM Masterclass. Two feature films in the line-up were presented at IFFR Pro’s Darkroom work-in-progress platform at IFFR 2026: Stand Up by Mari Sanders and Sugar by Amira Duynhouwer.
