How does the virtual queue work?

The regular ticket sale, which starts Thursday 16 January at 20.00, makes use of a digital queuing system. This also applies the day before, Wednesday 15 January, when the special ticket sale for Tiger Members starts. The queuing system ensures a smooth ordering process for the large number of people using the website at the same time.

Practical information

  • How do I join the queue?

    You will be automatically put in the queue as soon as you enter the website. From 19.30 the ‘pre-waiting queue’ starts, if you are on the website before then, you will also be automatically put in the ‘pre-waiting queue’. It does not matter if you have already logged into your IFFR account before 19.30.

  • What should I do while in the queue?

    You don’t have to do anything! We will offer you some entertainment on the queue page – all you need to do is keep an eye out for when it’s your turn.

  • What can I do in advance?

    You don’t need to go to the website too long before 20.00. At 20.00, everyone who is in the ‘pre-queue’ at that point will be allocated a random number in the queue. So it doesn’t matter whether you are there at 19.30, or just a few minutes before 20.00. Everyone has the same chance of being at the front of the queue. If you arrive after 20.00, however, you will join the back of the queue. You can prepare for the launch of ticket sales by doing the following:

    Make sure you have a stable internet connection and only one browser open
    Losing your internet connection is a common reason why an order cannot be completed or for having to join the back of the queue.

    Create a personal account

    You can sign up for a personal account by clicking on the little figure in a circle at the top right corner of this website. N.B.: you can’t do this between 19.30 and 20.00 on Thursday and Friday.

    Turn the sound up on your computer

    The queue system uses a sound to let you know when it is your turn to buy tickets.
