Film entry: selection process

The answers to most of your questions can be found in our Terms and Conditions. Please read these carefully before submitting your film.

  • What happens to my film once I have submitted it?

Firstly, we will process your submission and send you a confirmation email once we have done so. This process may take up to 4 weeks. Your film has then been successfully submitted. Secondly, our programmers will view all the submissions and make a selection.

  • Which screening formats are accepted for the festival if my film is selected?

Formats that can be screened during the festival are: DCP, 35mm, 16mm; presentation of other formats and video systems requires the authorisation of the festival. Please note that we retain the right to exclude the film from the programme if aberrant formats are submitted without our authorisation.

  • My film was not selected. Will I receive feedback on the reasons why?

Unfortunately, due to the large amount of titles we receive each year, we are unable to provide feedback on your submission.

  • When should my screening copy be delivered?

The deadline for all screening copies of selected films is 20 December 2024. For testing purposes and proper preparation for a successful screening of the film, all copies should be delivered in time.

For more information, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

  • Where can I find the terms and conditions for participating in an upcoming edition of IFFR?

You can find the terms and conditions for participating in an upcoming edition of IFFR here. Please read the terms and conditions thoroughly to check that the film meets the eligibility criteria that we require for submission.
