IFFR x Club Haug: Blue Monday

They say Blue Monday is the most depressing day of the year. We say that’s exactly why Rotterdam needs film and community!

Join IFFR and Club Haug on Monday 19 January as we brighten up the gloomiest day around. When the post-holiday blues hits hardest and winter feels endless, we’re fighting back with the best medicine: warmth, film and community!

We’ll present the heartfelt claymation Memoir of a Snail, along with a presentation of the most fun-inducing films of the upcoming IFFR 2026 edition! Because if we’re going to survive Blue Monday together, we might as well do it with a smile.

About Memoir of a Snail:
Memoir of a Snail is a heartfelt claymation by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Adam Elliot who excels in bringing light to an otherwise dark tale. Eccentric characters, playful animation and a distinct but fun visual humour create a wonderful universe in which lost souls really do have a chance to redeem themselves and find happiness. The result is a bittersweet film that captures the very essence of what it means to be human and acts as a reminder that one must learn to enjoy the life one has been given.

About Club Haug:
Comedy Club Haug is Rotterdam’s premier stand-up comedy venue. They offer almost daily shows across three rooms. The club is located on the Maas in Rotterdam. You’re welcome to enjoy performances by the best national and international stand-up talent, as well as promising newcomers.

Tickets for this event cost €12,50
