IFFR Filmclub x Oxfam Novib x OASE: Sunday Filmclub
Every Sunday afternoon, OASE turns the Kantine into a cosy little cinema, with a relaxed afternoon of films from the comfort of their sofas. On 18 October OASE is teaming up with IFFR Filmclub and Oxfam Novib for a film programme centered around Palestine. Free entry, but booking ahead is recommended.

About the film
Habibi Hussein (Alex Bakri, 2025)
Film projectionist Hussein Darbi brings more than forty years of experience and connections into getting a carbon-arc projector going again – for some vain and vapid NGO pipe dream. A cautionary tale about cultural colonialism that serves as an allegory for much more than merely cinema.

About OASE’s Sunday Filmclub
OASE is a cultural venue, café and lab for a fair, sustainable city. Here, big issues turn into small steps. Playful, tangible and within your reach. Every Sunday afternoon, OASE turns their Kantine into a little cinema of its own. Sink into a sofa, treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake, and settle in for an afternoon of film, with headphones on and plenty of room to relax. Each week brings a different theme and a different film programme, from cult hits and unexpected classics to short films by local makers. The programme is curated by OASE’s programming team, together with partners such as IFFR and Roffa Mon Amour.

About the IFFR Filmclub
Filmclub is a new initiative of IFFR, currently in the pilot phase, where (future) film lovers, young filmmakers and creatives come together to watch films and exchange interests. The idea is that the Filmclub will take place biweekly at various locations throughout Rotterdam, where a mix of (inter)national films, both new and true classics, will be shown in a relaxed setting in combination with discussions, workshops or parties. Whether you are discovering cinema for the first time or are already well on your way as a filmmaker, the Filmclub is a place to get inspired, network or just come and watch a film. The club works together with local communities throughout Rotterdam.
