IFFR Filmclub x Dokhuis: Autumn
Join us Friday 3 October, for the latest edition of IFFR x Dokhuis, as we screen two films, each with a focus on the overaching theme of autumn.

About the films
Tisztás (Zalán Szakács, 2024)
Zalán Szakács made the sensuous Tisztás after a ten-day exploration of the Romanian region of Transylvania. The film combines interviews with visual interpretations and gathered sounds. Against the backdrop of this remarkable landscape, we watch and listen to the residents and their myths, tales and traditions, that revolve around the connection between culture and nature.
Where do ideas come from? (Joysi Olijhoek, 2024)
Where do ideas come from? Using seemingly unrelated archival material, filmmaker Joysi Olijhoek uses a split-screen to probe this question. And, it’s not just the images that are recycled: the voiceover consists of various excerpts pondering the origin of ideas. Meanwhile, we witness the emergence of a new idea.

About the IFFR Filmclub
Filmclub is a new initiative of IFFR, currently in the pilot phase, where (future) film lovers, young filmmakers and creatives come together to watch films and exchange interests. The idea is that the Filmclub will take place biweekly at various locations throughout Rotterdam, where a mix of (inter)national films, both new and true classics, will be shown in a relaxed setting in combination with discussions, workshops or parties. Whether you are discovering cinema for the first time or are already well on your way as a filmmaker, the Filmclub is a place to get inspired, network or just come and watch a film. The club works together with local communities throughout Rotterdam.
