De Pont Museum x IFFR : PUNCH
We are coming to Tilburg on 15 January for the first PUNCH of the year! Every month, De Pont Museum hosts PUNCH, a museum takeover, where we are invited to create a film programme in response to their current exhibition.

We have programmed a varied selection of short films for this evening. The films engage in dialogue with Tino Sehgal’s recurring exploration of performance, presence, time, unique experiences, art criticism, and a rejection of the commodification of all of the above. The screening will be followed by a short discussion with IFFR programmer Cristina Kolozsváry-Kiss. De Pont Museum will be open free of charge from 5 p.m. on this evening, with the (film) programme starting at 6.30 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made here.
About the films
A Thousand Waves Away (Helena Wittmann, 2025)
Amidst lush foliage, vibrant flower beds, babbling brooks and neatly kept lawns, characters move tentatively. As they carefully observe and interact with their surroundings and each other, a mysterious tension is growing. Beautifully shot on 16mm, and accompanied by the rousing sounds of music from Nika Son, Helena Wittman’s latest work is a feast for the eyes and the ears.
La nostra habitació (Jaume Claret Muxart, 2025)
A weary radio host encased in her headphones, Gal·la, plays Chopin’s Concerto No. 2 in F minor, interrupted by a child in a karate uniform. After the studio she reads a story to help him sleep, though no one quite manages. Encountering a stranger, the three begin a new broadcast that beams from their room. Sound is the main preoccupation of La nostra habitació, it encloses, intrudes, draws together and sets free.
Gerhard (Ulu Braun, 2025)
What does a day in the life of the most famous painter alive look like? Is it a battleground of colour, a symphony of rebellion, a spectacle of squeegeeing? And what roles do the Sparkasse Bank and mysterious Anselm play in all of that? In his hilarious spoof documentary on the art world, Ulu Braun walks away from his trademark ‘video paintings’ and steps into a full blown AI universe.
Skeyesee (Jimmy Schaus, 2025)
A series of contrasts: indoors and outdoors, digital and analogue, natural and artificial light. These are the images that flicker by, frame by frame. A mise en abyme of a small scene at home unravels into a trip inside, outside and through the TV. Projected on the original roll of Ektachrome reversal stock, all edits were made in-camera.
About De Pont Museum & This Youiiyou by Tino Sehgal
De Pont is an independent museum of contemporary art, housed in a former wool-spinning mill in Tilburg. De Pont Museum presents the Dutch premiere of Tino Sehgal’s live work This youiiyou (2023) since September 2025. The Berlin-based artist of German-Indian descent has become internationally renowned for his groundbreaking works. In This youiiyou, a choreography of voice, rhythm, and body language unfolds around the theme of intergenerational connection. It is among Sehgal’s most intimate pieces to date, enacted by a cast of participants who create a sensorial and emotionally charged experience for each visitor. The work is rooted in presence, interaction, and shared attention.
