Yandy Laurens
Yandy LAURENS (1989, Indonesia) is a filmmaker who studied film at the Institut Kesenian Jakarta. His graduation short Wan An (2012) won Best Short Film at the Indonesian Film Festival. After working in commercials, music videos and web series, he made his feature debut with Cemara’s Family (2018), which premiered at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival. His second feature, Falling in Love Like in Movies (2023), earned eleven nominations at the 2024 Indonesian Film Festival, including Best Picture and Best Director. Laurens’ short Waiting for News screened at IFFR 2014, and he returns to the festival in 2025 with the romantic sci-fi fantasy Sore: A Wife from the Future.
