Yana Lineva

Yana LINEVA (1998, Bulgaria) is an animator and photographer. In her work, she collages and deconstructs a variety of media, such as animation and archive, to make the viewer actively question the images they are met with. Her background in visual effects lets her freely manipulate acquired images, changing their context to strengthen her narrative intentions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Animation as well as a master’s degree in Lens Based Media from Piet Zwart Institute. She has worked in the animation and visual effects industries, both in Germany and Bulgaria. In 2023, she moved to the Netherlands to pursue her master’s and is currently residing there, engaging in projects in fashion photography and independent filmmaking.
