Michiel ten Horn

Michiel TEN HORN (1983, the Netherlands) graduated in 2007 from Utrecht Arts University (HKU), where he studied animation. After his studies, the animator and illustrator mainly worked on live action productions. His animation background remains clear in his films and music videos, both in form and at a narrative level. The Deflowering of Eva van End (2012) was his feature debut and after its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, American film magazine Variety listed Ten Horn as one of ‘Ten European directors to watch’. His film Aanmodderfakker (2014) was nominated for Best Director and won the award for Best Film, Best Scenario and Best Actor at the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF).
